Johannes Wildner studied conducting, violin and musicology in Vienna and in Italy.His years of experience as a member of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra have given his conducting a distinctive stamp.

After positions as Chief Conductor of Prague State Opera and First Permanent Conductor of Leipzig Opera, Johannes Wildner was the General Music Director of the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Westphalia (Germany) for ten years from 1997. He served as Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Concert Orchestra in London from 2010 to 2014. From 2014 he has been the Director of the Austrian Opera Festival OPER BURG GARS and was appointed Professor of Conducting at the Vienna University of Music. From September 2019, he has also served as Chief Conductor of the Sønderjyllands Symphony Orchestra in Sønderborg (DK).

He has regularly appeared as a guest conductor in major opera houses such as the Tokyo New National Theatre, the Teatro Carlo Felice Genova, the Arena di Verona, Leipzig, Düsseldorf, Graz, Salzburg, Prague and Zagreb State Opera, and with orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the London and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana in Palermo, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Tokyo Philharmonic, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony, the Vienna Radio Symphony, the Bergen Philharmonic, the China Philharmonic, the Hong Kong Philharmonic and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.

Johannes Wildner has recorded over 100 CDs, DVDs and videos, including the integral versions of Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus and Mozart’s Cosí fan tutte, recordings of Carmen and Le Nozze di Figaro, Bruckner’s Third and Ninth Symphonies, as well as works by forgotten composers like D‘Erlanger and Braunfels with the BBC Concert Orchestra, and several CDs of previously unknown repertoire by Zeisl, Marx and J.N.David with the ORF RSO Vienna.

Aktuelle Situation zu Corona (COVID-19) / Verschiebung Konzert (Stand 02.04.2020)

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,

Sehr geehrte Besucher und Freunde!

Aufgrund des Erlasses der Österreichischen Bundesregierung, sind u.a. Großveranstaltungen (wie Konzerte) bis auf Weiteres untersagt.

Da aus heutiger Sicht (02.04.2020) mit an Sicherheit grenzende Wahrscheinlichkeit die Durchführung des Konzertes am 1. Mai 2020 im Linzer Brucknerhaus nicht möglich sein wird, haben wir uns dazu entschlossen, das Konzert auf Freitag, den 4. September 2020 (Beginnzeit: 17:00 Uhr) ebendort zu verschieben.

Die Gesundheit unserer Besucher und unserer Orchester-Mitglieder steht selbstverständlich immer an erster Stelle und wir möchten damit auch die Bemühungen unterstützen, das Virus bestmöglich zu bekämpfen. Wir danken für Ihr Verständnis.

Die bereits erworbenen Eintrittskarten behalten ihre Gültigkeit und müssen daher nicht umgetauscht werden.
Aus terminlichen Gründen wird Dirigent Alfred Eschwé durch das Konzert führen. Das Programm wird überarbeitet und in Kürze auf unserer Webseiteabrufbar sein.
